DICE by Velvet
A game of chance leads to some unexpected risk taking for the warrior and bard in a pre-rift story with solid characterizations and an entertaining premise. - 7 pgs., 1/12/00

**DID HE WHO MADE THE LAMB MAKE THEE? by Cheaza
I don't think I've read a story this heart-wrenching since Peribear's THE BEST IN LOVE so before tackling it make sure to arm yourself with a multitude of kleenex boxes. Cheaza gives us in this tale an alternate culmination to the rift that does not involve singing, tarot symbols or illusions. Instead we get the stark reality of a friendship in ruins, a heart in pieces and a mind overwhelmed by a guilt so complete that it simply sinks into insanity. This is an utterly dark, gut-wrenching piece featuring descriptions of sexual violence, rough language and containing some REALLY disturbing scenes. Packing an emotional wallop, this hurt/comfort story is *NOT* for everyone but if you have a strong constitution and appreciate angst it is certainly a thought-provoking read that comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 19 pgs., 3/10/98

DIFFERENCES by Willow
A very different story featuring a poignant lesson in love which may at last prod the Warrior Princess and her bard to be honest with one another. - 7 pgs., 10/8/97

DIFFERENT BATTLE (A) by Kanvil McAster
Nicely written story that has Xena and Gab facing off against a sadistic cult protected by Ares himself. With the knowledge that only she can stop the God of War from using the cult to take control of Olympus itself, Xena must make the ultimate sacrifice, letting go of the greatest love she has ever known. - 35 pgs., 3/97

DIFFERENT KIND OF RIFT (A) by RavensTale
Clever new story set after the events in THE DEBT which has Ares offering Xena the chance to go back in time and change some of the horrific experiences she and Gabrielle have recently endured. Nice writing and an interesting premise give this one lots of potential. - 58 pgs., 1/29/98

DIRTY WORK by Quest
A mischievous little vignette from another of our most talented bards, that has Gabrielle turning playful on the Warrior Princess just as Xena finds herself in need of a towel... ;-) Naughty and Cute. - 3 pgs., 6/7/97

DISCOVERY by Linda D
A story about misunderstandings and discoveries that has Xena and Gabrielle engaging in a revealing conversation from the heart. Sweet and passionate. - 7 pgs., 7/6/98

DISEMBODIED by Kristian S. Fischer
The latest entry in the INFINITY SERIES begun by Redhawk, this new offering by Kristian continues the tale of the immortal Xena and her beloved Rickie as they enjoy a quiet time in Portland, reveling in their love and remembering moments from their life together over two thousand years ago. It's a quiet time that is soon interrupted when an old friend of Xena pays them a visit, warning of dangers drawing near and a game about to begin all over again for the ancient warrior. Kristian does a nice job with the treatment of the Xena/Rickie pairing maintaining the sense of commitment and deep love it's had throughout the series. Good action sequence in this. - 20 pgs., 1/5/99

**DIVINE INTERVENTION by Georgia
MARVELOUS new story from a very talented bard, this time offering us a deeply moving, riveting look at the events immediately following the episode SACRIFICE II. As a heart-broken Xena travels to Amazonia to deliver the news of her beloved bard's death, an infuriated Artemis decides to get even with brother Ares for daring to influence the life of an Amazon Queen. Meanwhile, in the depths of a very dark hole, an injured bard languishes with the child she gave birth to...a child whose heart is finally revealed as death seems to come for them both. Some wonderfully poignant moments in a well-crafted story that touches upon many of the most significant aspects of the rift and its aftermath. Featuring terrific characterizations, this is one you wont want to put down. A MUST READ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 25 pgs., 9/28/98

DIVORCE AMAZON STYLE by T. Novan
The Unthinkable has happened in part 79 of the RAISING MELOSA SERIES and the Amazon Queen wants nothing to do with her consort. Well...almost nothing ;-) Interesting change of direction in this one. - 6 pgs., 10/3/99
