This is a follow-up to Jill's first story CAVES which very nicely maintains the mythical feel of that earlier effort. The tale has Xena and Gabrielle visiting a village where for a change it is the bard and not the warrior that awakens the people's animosity. Jill cleverly interlaces the main tale with an older legend producing a story which carries a great message about the ignorance of hatred based solely on people being different. DO NOT MISS! - 17 pgs., 1/10/98

SEA CAVE (THE) by The Rabbit in Pink Rabbit Productions and Katrina
A sizzling digital art piece by The Rabbit, supplemented by a passionate story fragment from Katrina - a moment of surrender in a cave by the sea. -- 1 pg., 8/16/98
FANFIC ART: Contained within the story

The warrior and bard spend time affectionately teasing their eldest about her love life in part 78 of the RAISING MELOSA SERIES. Meanwhile, Xena prepares to go after the traitor who almost took her partner from her. Very cute exchanges between the family in this one and some intriguing revelations. DO NOT MISS! - 5 pgs., 10/3/99
[Palm Pilot version available at XENA FAN FICTION FOR THE PALM PILOT]

Gabrielle goes shopping for Xena's birthday present but she can't seem to find what she has in mind. A very amused and always mischievous Callisto tags along - just waiting for the bard to find that perfect gift ;-) If your funny bone hasn't already been seriously jeopardized this evening, it is going to be in critical condition after this! Callisto is in top form as is Pallas in a HYSTERICAL sketch that comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 9 pgs., 10/20/98

SECOND CHANCE (A) by Mighty Might  Save Alert
Misunderstandings lead to a separation between Xena and Gab. Lots of angst in this one [unfinished] - 1996

SECOND CHANCE by Kelley Piper
In parts a tear-jerker, in parts just a wonderful feel-good tale, this story is about regrets and hope as it chronicles the last moments of a bard in the Winter of her years looking forward to a reunion too long in coming and a second chance to reveal what has always been in her heart. Solid, emotional offering for the mushballs in us all. - 6 pgs., 1/28/99

A first-time, hurt/comfort story all rolled into one SPECTACULAR package, this is one of those tales you'll be unable to put down 'til the very end! One of the entries in TZ's A SACRIFICE FOR LOVE SERIES, the story is set after the events in SACRIFICE II and has a number of Olympians all pooling their resources to reunite a certain warrior with her beloved bard. TZ's characterizations in this are solid and engaging while her depiction of the Xena/Gab relationship is loving, caring, sensual, and just marvelously heartwarming. A simple story about a love that is truly magical, this is the type of tale that makes XWP fan fiction such a delight. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - 23 pgs., 7/20/98

**SECRETS PAST by M. Pappas and J. Covington
This is the final entry in the trilogy which began with ARES' GAME and was later continued in ESCAPADE. This is also possibly the best tale so far by these two very talented authors with the most happening names in the Xenaverse! As the story begins Xena and Gabrielle are considering what direction their relationship is to take now that they have admitted what they feel for one another. Knowing that it is important to Gabrielle, Xena agrees to have their union officially blessed by the Amazons, never telling the bard just exactly what the ceremony involves and never suspecting herself the series of events that will be unleashed as a result - events that will uncover a shocking secret from the past and that will threaten to destroy what Xena holds most dear. This story is long and THANK THE GODS for that because you will not want it to end! Romance, intrigue, drama, and a TON of humor all wrapped up in a very nicely written package. A MUST READ!! - 64 pgs., 5/7/97

Set after the events in FORGET ME NOT, SigXAG's first fanfic contribution is a tender love story about truths of the heart finally revealed. Good mix of romance and passion. - 22 pgs., 11/21/98

A story with the PERFECT solution for our recent "indecision" problems in the U.S., MaryE's latest has the warrior and bard arriving in Florida to try to solve some election fiasco only to find they don't have as much in common with the "Bush" lovers as they at first thought, that the continued unrest may lead to mayhem and "Gore" and that an old enemy may be up to his old tricks again. Delightful and decidedly clever, this tale puts the warrior and bard in a setting that just seems to SCREAM for their intervention ;-) The characterizations are adorable with both somewhat innocent in the ways of the modern world but willing to cut to the point as it were and as usual - loving one another's company >:-) The final line in this one is GUARANTEED to shake that funny bone no matter what your political sensibilities are. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 5 pgs., 12/10/00

SENSE OF HUMOR by Della Street
Xena shows a little sense of humor when a comedian gets a tad too friendly with her bard. Fun characterization of the warrior in full possessive mode. Part of the TIMEWASTERS SERIES. - 2 pgs., 1/26/99

An Argo with attitude. You just have to LOVE this story ;-) It's not easy being a warrior's horse when that warrior is smitten and too scared to do anything about it. So knowing what's good for said warrior - and an equine's coat - Argo decides to take matters into her own...hooves :) Adorable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 3 pgs., 1/30/99

**SENSITIVE CHATS by Kamouraskan
This hysterical first time offering finds Xena and Gabrielle in Amazonia where a disbelieving Ephiny is asked to interfere when Xena can't quite keep up with one VERY enthusiastic bard. Kamouraskan does a great job here mixing a rather emotional issue with comedy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See the follow-up SENSITIVE CHATS II] - 7 pgs., 1/12/00
FANFIC ART: Calli Story Cover

A fun follow-up to Kam's SENSITIVE CHATS, this works also as a clever little writing lesson with each scene exploring a slightly different technique. Set on that ever-so-romantic holiday, Cupid's Day, the story has the warrior in the midst of a guilt trip after she rather effectively ruins the bard's surprise. Intent on making it up to her beloved partner, Xena decides to embrace one of the Amazon traditions for Cupid's Day...much to the Amazons' dismay ;-) Guaranteed grin alert on this one. - 8 pgs., 9/1/00

SEPARATIONS by Angela (Nniol)
Xena's painful musings as she watches the love of her life promise herself to another in RETURN OF CALLISTO. - 1 pg., 2/11/99

One of the most popular talents in XWP fanfic returns to once again help us deal with XWS as she did exactly one year ago with the release of the much loved classic A BARD DAY'S NIGHT. Set after the end of season three, DJ's latest finds Xena on a lonely stretch of beach, dazed after the loss of her soulmate, turning to the one place where she knows she'll feel the bard's spirit most of all - in Gabrielle's scrolls. Alone with Argo she begins reading those scrolls and reminiscing back to one of the last adventures they shared while on a fateful visit to a city named...Pompeii. With their relationship still not fully healed from the horror of the rift, this was a time full of insecurities and worries for them but also filled with a renewed sense of hope amidst the infectious joviality of a city preparing for one of its grandest festivals. They are even further drawn into the Pompeiian's excitement when they happen across an old friend well-versed in the art of FUN - the incomparable Sappho who we first me in A BARD DAY'S NIGHT and who is soon once again doing what she does best - getting them all into TROUBLE! DJ's Sappho is one of the greatest creations in fanfic while her treatment of the Xena/Gab partnership remains heartfelt and wonderfully compelling, made even more so this time around by the poignancy of seeing the warrior remember a time when they were both so stubbornly holding on to the love between them. Featuring a passionate, beautifully erotic, loving reaffirmation of the connection between warrior and bard contrasted against the terror of thousands as a sleeping mountain awakens to mark the final hours of an ancient city, this story is absolutely riveting. There are rumors about a legendary LOST CHAPTER that is also part of the story - lets just say I give this chapter my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION ;-) ...but like those explorers who discovered the ruins of Pompeii, be adviced that you're gonna have to do a little digging to find it - and no guys - don't ask me. I've been sworn to secrecy! DJ has turned her story into a multiedia extravaganza adding to it maps and pictures, including some very dramatic images of the end of Pompeii which from personal experience, having visited the ruins of the city, I can tell you are quite poignant. SEVEN DAYS is a very worthy addition to this bard's outstanding body of work - one of the best to come out this year. It receives my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!! - 216 pgs., 7/31/98
