TO BE A WOMAN by DelShannon
TO BE A WOMAN is a hurt/comfort story that has Gabrielle thinking about her feelings for Xena just as an attack intensifies these, reminding her of how much she loves the warrior. Unbeknownst to the two of them - an old enemy has seen what they themselves have yet to admit and now knows Xena's greatest weakness. Lots of angst in this one. [Note: this story features extreme violence] [unfinished] - 1/26/98, re-released 5/12/98

**TO BE QUEEN by T. Novan
Xena and Gabrielle's recent teasing takes a pause when they inadvertently become aware of the much more serious problems between another Amazon couple. Part 85 of the RAISING MELOSA SERIES touches on a painful and important issue. DO NOT MISS! - 5 pgs., 10/17/99

TO LIVE by de Bonheur
A deeply SENSUAL new offering depicting the coming together of two souls. De Bonheur's unique writing style is deceptively subtle but very effective in creating the vivid imagery throughout this vignette. This is the fourth installment in the LONG IS THE WAY SERIES. - 6 pgs., 9/20/97

Extending that final scene in the episode MANY HAPPY RETURNS, CN has the warrior and bard returning from their "flight" to share a very romantic, sexy evening together. Lovely piece for the romantic in us all. - 4 pgs., 7/2/01

**TO RESCUE A FRIEND by Katelin B.
Book I in a new series titled DEATH OF A NATION, this is a well-written story that beautifully captures the heart of the Amazon nation in a poignant, dramatic, tale that has the Amazons facing a very real threat to their future. On the eve prior to the start of a war they did not ask for but cannot run away from, a troubled Ephiny asks Xena to lead the Amazons into battle - she herself preferring to fight alongside her sisters as a simple warrior. With Gabrielle in Poteidaia visiting her family, Xena agrees - knowing full well the heavy odds facing the Amazons. None of them, however, suspect the true extent of the danger that awaits them but it is a sense of this danger that prompts the Warrior Princess to examine her heart with regards to a certain bard...and to counsel a friend to do the same with her own heart. Featuring an excellent depiction of Ephiny, this story has the feel of an epic. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 160 pgs., 12/14/97

Adorable little story about some slight sleeping incompatibilities that have one very tired bard grabbing that shut-eye in unlikely places, and a very worried Warrior Princess never suspecting herself as the reason for her partner's exhaustion. Nice slice-of-life piece about the everyday little challenges partners sometimes have to deal with. - 7 pgs., 2/4/99

An adventure-drama set in modern times, this EXCEPTIONAL novel is the sequel to Sword’n’Quill's THE STRANGER IN YOUR EYES which had the ancient immortal Xena at long last reuniting with her beloved bard after Gabrielle was reincarnated in another's body. Set a short while after the end of that first story, this new episode begins with a tender, peaceful interlude as warrior and bard reacquaint themselves with one another, rediscovering the love and passion and wonder of two soulmates too long denied. Soon enough though - the outside world snakes its way back into their lives as Xena is asked to assist in an investigation of a white supremacist group suspected in a growing number of disappearances. At the same time, Gabrielle reveals the real reason Hades allowed her to return to the world of the living - to make an appeal to the immortal warrior for her help in stopping an ancient God determined to reclaim his powers by plunging the world into a renewed cycle of hatred and war. There's only one way to stop the coming Armageddon...and it demands a price even Xena may not be willing to pay... Mixing moments of nostalgia with a deeply touching love story, SIZZLING romance, suspenseful action, and the charming humor ingrained in the bard's efforts at familiarizing herself with the modern world, Sword’n’Quill's latest is a captivating tale you will not want to put down 'til the very end. Beautifully written and edited, this one is a definite MUST READ! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 349 pgs., 4/17/99

Set after the Ring Trilogy, this intriguing hurt/comfort story finds the warrior and bard traveling south through Gaul anxious to get home but having an increasingly difficult time as Gabrielle struggles with nightmares. Soon the nightmares seem to be invading her waking moments as she's beset with vision after vision of blood, death and misery. At a loss, Xena can only offer comfort and encourage her to get sleep certain that the bard's restless nights are playing havoc with her psyche but Gabrielle is not as certain. One particular vision haunts her - calling her to reach across physical boundaries to try to bring peace to a soul in anguish. Zuke offers a very appealing treatment of the Xena/Gab relationship presenting them as devoted, concerned, loving companions. The story unravels at a good pace and draws a poignant connection to a more modern time. A treat for classic XWP fans. - 9 pgs., 5/2002
