CALLISTO: CHILD'S PLAY by Joseph Anderson
This new Callisto story has the blonde warlord feeling "motherly" toward an abused waif. Well-written and absolutely chilling. Please note the warnings involving violence posted by the author at the beginning of this story. - 11 pgs., 7/2/97
DOLON by Joseph Anderson
Gabrielle meets the young eunuch who served Xena during some of her years as a warlord. Like THE GAME AT CYRENE, this story offers a sharp contrast between the Warrior Princess of old and the reformed Xena as we see the warrior interacting once again with the young man who was once her slave. - 7 pgs., 11/24/97
GAME AT CYRENE (THE) by Joseph Anderson
Xena tells Gabrielle about a particularly bloody time from her past. Joseph's characterization of the warlord Xena is ruthless and suitably shocking. Note: This story contains violence. [See also the sequel DOLON]. - 8 pgs., 11/24/97
TWILIGHT by Joseph Anderson
Painting the twilight of the gods in a startlingly somber new light, this tale finds Xena, Gabrielle and Eve enjoying a day at the market when they recognize a familiar face under the ragged clothes of a wretched beggar. A story full of pathos about lost glories, inevitable change and the welcomed mercy of compassion. Grab a kleenex before this one. - 3 pgs.
