**BEYOND WORDS by Katrina -- [Alt]
A gorgeously crafted, sensual vignette about passion and poetic inspiration ;-) Katrina uses the English language much like a gifted artist wields a brush, creating rich images with the careful selection of words and the juxtaposition of key phrases. I think this woman could probably turn a grocery list into a sensual experience. When her subjects are Xena and Gab...well...that just probably makes her task easier if no less impressive. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 2 pgs., 4/19/99

BIT OF FLESH (A) by Katrina -- [Alt]
Katrina gets playful...and you should all know by now that when Katrina gets playful, wickedness is at hand! >:) VERY cute story that has the bard stuck in a rather compromising position and the warrior helping her...pass the time ;-) - 3 pgs., 2/17/98

**BITE ME by Katrina -- [Alt]
The author describes this story as "wildly imaginative" and she's not kidding! Based on the events which took place in the episode GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN, this tale begins with Ares confronting Gabrielle over Xena's recent preoccupation with her. He is certain Xena's secret obsession with Gabrielle is hurting her skills as a warrior and could possibly get her killed so he simply wants the bard to give in to her own passions for the warrior. Ares knows the real reason Gabrielle fights against those passions - he knows the secret the bard has been hiding since the fateful meeting with Bacchus - a secret which shames her but which ironically may help her understand Xena better. For Xena's sake the two come to an understanding, never suspecting that the warrior will be taking control of the situation soon enough. Definitely unusual but well-written and original. DO NOT MISS! [Note: This is the first story in the BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES] - 10 pgs., 7/11/97

DARK PROMISE by Katrina and Sharon Bowers -- [Alt]
This latest entry in Katrina's BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES promises to be one wild, fun ride. A crossover tale featuring the characters from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, this story has Buffy getting quite a surprise when she meets Willow's aunts who aside from having the same names as a couple of popular TV characters, also keep setting off the slayer's hypersensitive senses. Katrina and Sharon's characterizations are on the money and will delight fans of both series although this is entertaining even if you only watch one of them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [unfinished] - 3/8/98

**FONDER HEART: A BITE ME SEQUEL (THE) by Katrina -- [Alt]
Set in the present day, this is a poignant sequel to Katrina's BITE ME which helps set the premise for her BLOOD AND ROSES SERIES. The story has Gabrielle, made immortal by Bacchus' blood, suffering the aching loneliess of life without her soulmate and taking comfort in the arms of another - a mortal with an incredible resemblance to the ancient warrior a bard once loved so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 4 pgs., 10/30/97

**HEALER (THE) by Katrina - [Alt]
In February 1998 Katrina started a new Xena fanfic genre with the release of the first-ever Conqueror story THE STORYTELLER which to this day remains one of the finest piece of fiction available on the Web. Now with the release of chapter one of THE HEALER Katrina begins a much-anticipated and already quite promising sequel. Set some months after STORYTELLER, this new tale finds the world marveling at the subtle changes that have taken place in the realm of Xena the Conqueror as the Empress has embraced a new way of governing, a new way of dealing with her subjects. Though at times still swift and merciless, the Destroyer of Nations is also now surprisingly just - more mindful of her human resources and less ready to resort to plain cruelty. It's a change attributed in part to the crippled scribe who's become a constant presence by the ruler's side - a change welcomed by many and despised by others - a change which has exacted a toll of its own on the once heartless Conqueror for in opening herself to the love of the young woman she once sought to kill Xena has now rediscovered a long-buried heart, making herself vulnerable in the process. Fighting outside forces and inner turmoil, the Conqueror will take them on a journey to see an old friend, on a quest for redemption and healing that may prove to be the greatest challenge yet for the fierce Warrior Queen as she endeavors to heal those scars that can be seen...and the deeper ones that cannot. Katrina does a nice job in this initial chapter of recapturing the flavor of THE STORYTELLER as she summarizes the events of that earlier story and starts us all on another wonderfully emotional ride. Nicely written and benefiting from Katrina's poetic sensibilities, this is DEFINITELY one to watch in the coming weeks. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [Note: review based on a pre-screening of some additional chapters :) ] [unfinished] - 4 pgs., 12/15/99

HOMECOMING by Katrina -- [Alt]
A sweet, unusual little uber-Xena tale about two hearts connecting across the miles in a time of war. - 5/26/98

**MATCHMAKER by Katrina -- [Alt]
Based on a clever premise, this new tale is going to put a grin on your face with chapter one. The story has a VERY concerned Toris asking Xena for help when he overhears his mom talking with Gabrielle's mom about matchmaking and assumes the two mothers are going to try to make a match between him and Lilla. Little do they know that although correct about the matchmaking efforts - Torris has gotten the principals all wrong... >:) A really fun read. - 93 pgs., 7/11/97

SEA CAVE (THE) by The Rabbit in Pink Rabbit Productions and Katrina -- [Alt]
A sizzling digital art piece by The Rabbit, supplemented by a passionate story fragment from Katrina - a moment of surrender in a cave by the sea. -- 1 pg., 8/16/98
FANFIC ART: Contained within the story

**STORYTELLER (THE) by Katrina - [Alt]
Set in the alternate world of the Hercules episode ARMAGEDDON, this fantastic new warlord/slave story is a powerful, intense, emotional piece that has the young agitator Gabrielle surviving the ordeal Empress Xena condemned her to on a cross. It is while suffering the pain of that torture that Gabrielle gains a sudden insight into how she may be able to change the ruthless empress - not by inciting the people against her, but by inciting a revolution in the woman's own heart. Determined to try even if it leads to her death, Gabrielle returns to the castle where the now crippled agitator turns storyteller and is soon telling her one-time enemy tales of heroes, of fighting for the greater good, and of a love that would change the world. Katrina's characterizations in this are beautifully multi-layered, presenting a Xena with all the power in the world and an aching emptiness within while her Gabrielle, despite a poignant outer frailty, is a storyteller of gentle heroism and steely determination. A very original, beautifully written story which touches all the right emotional buttons, this receives my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! [See the sequel THE HEALER] - 38 pgs., 2/22/98

WARLORD DAZE by Katrina -- [Alt]
A somewhat different warlord/slave story that will likely get that pulse With Xena back in warlord mode, a determined Gabrielle enlists the aid of friends to help her get back to the warrior's side. One slight glitch though - Xena doesn't seem to remember her so to stay near Gabrielle is going to have to convince the Warrior Princess that she's her personal slave...attentive in every way. Unbeknownst to the bard, Xena has a surprise in store for her - the first of MANY they will share in this HIGHLY erotic, exceedingly well-written and intriguing tale. More than a story about Xena: Warrior Princess, WARLORD DAZE is an exploration of sexuality, power, trust and the appeal of the forbidden. NOTE: This is an adult story that contains S&M and bondage. It is an acquired taste that may not be for everyone. - 490 pgs., 8/20/97
