GIRL TALK by Maureen McGowan
I don't think I've read a Maureen McGowan story that HASN'T brought both a smile to my face and a tear to my eyes - this latest effort by her is no different. Maureen's XWP stories are structured around the unbreakable bond between warrior and bard, lending them a heartwarming quality that makes for an excellent read. This new tale finds the Warrior Princess stuck in a cave while an injury heals with Gabrielle trying to sooth her restlessness. Faced with this monumental challenge, the bard resorts to her best weapon - the gift of conversation, never suspecting the rewards she will reap from this effort. Very sweet story. - 10 pgs., 4/19/97

**HOMECOMING (THE) by Maureen McGowan
VERY sweet, beautiful story that has Xena taking Gabby back to Potidaea for a visit with her family only to discover that the little bard has a few surprises in store for her there. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
- 13 pgs., 3/97

PROMISE (THE) by Maureen McGowan
This story was the first housed at the XWP INFORMATION PAGE Web site and features Xena and Gabby once again in a dangerous confrontation with the warlord Draco who having discovered Xena's weakness for the bard decides to use Gabrielle to take revenge on the Warrior Princess. - 23 pgs., 3/97

**RITE OF PASSAGE by Maureen McGowan
A wonderful tale featuring a challenge for the bard of Potidea turned Amazon Queen. During a visit with her sister Amazons, Gabrielle agrees to go through the Rite of Passage - an Amazon coming-of-age ceremony which Xena agrees to assist in. For most Amazons, it is a routine ceremony with little danger involved but then the Gabster is not like most Amazons and trouble DOES tend to follow her. This story is very much what we've come to expect from a McGowan offering - excellently written with moments that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!- 32 pgs., 5/21/97

**TEST OF FRIENDSHIP (A) by Maureen McGowan
Marueen McGowan consistently delivers some of the finest XWP fan fiction around. This FANTASTIC story is one of her bests. Gabrielle finds herself having to deal with an injured Xena suffering from amnesia who is suddenly once again the deadly warlord of old with no memory of the past two years - a one-time friend and hero who will effect on the bard the greatest of betrayals. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 16 pgs., 4/97
