**ABOUT THAT KISS by Trish Kerr (Phopas) -- [Alt]
This tale is set immediately after the events in the episode A NECESSARY EVIL and has Xena and Gabrielle searching for Xena's lost sword as the two try to understand the events of the past few days and the emotions they are feeling. Unbeknownst to them, a vicious warlord has set in motion a plan that will separate warrior and bard putting in danger the happiness they thought they had found. VERY well written, long story with lots of action, nice romance and Amazons! ;-) Make sure to also read the sequel HONEYMOON. - 49 pgs., 4/25/97

BROODING WARRIOR (THE) by Trish Kerr (Phopas) -- [Alt]
Set after the events in the episode THE QUEST, this story has Xena finally taking time to ponder all that has happened since her death and resurrection. More than anything else, the warrior finds herself thinking about Gabrielle and the incredible love she sensed within the bard - a love she desperately wants to return but is too afraid to. Thoughtful and well-written. - 5 pgs., 2/97

**HEART AND SOUL by Trish Kerr (Phopas) -- [Alt]
This new effort by Phopas follows the story started in ABOUT THAT KISS and its sequel HONEYMOON and easily maintains if not surpasses the quality of those two excellent tales. HEART & SOUL is a novel - Phopas' longest story to date and absolutely glorious in every respect - WILD, funny, romantic, emotional - PERFECT! It begins immediately after the events in HONEYMOON and has Xena reluctantly putting off a vacation so she can investigate the disappearances of several maidens and the rumored desecrations at a temple of Zeus. Closer to Xena and Gabrielle than they even suspect is the very culprit they are looking for - a deadly enemy with a game plan for world domination that if successful will destroy the love between warrior and bard and eventually, their very lives. The characterizations in this story are wonderful. Immersed in a chilling "conquer the world" dementia, Phopas' villain is possibly the most evil and scary Xena and Gab have faced since Callisto. Phopas also has an incredible talent for combining the dramatic with a wit that is all her own. In this novel she injects the peculiarities of fandom into parts of the plot creating scenes that will be familiar to many a Xenite - the clueless admirer is precious and the visits to a certain commercial establishment will just have you roaring! Also pay attention to those little poems/quotes/song snipets included at the beginning of each chapter. I cannot believe how Phopas managed to find ones SO well-suited for each section. Finally, this story depicts the Xena/Gab relationship beautifully - protective and passionate with lots of love. This is a MUST READ people! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See also the sequel VACATION IN TARTARUS] - 123 pgs., 7/14/97

**HONEYMOON by Phopas -- [Alt]
This isn't just a story - it's an EXPERIENCE!! Absolutely RIVETING! The story is sort of a sequel to Phopas other excellent story ABOUT THAT KISS. You don't need to have read that first story to follow this one but it helps - plus that first story is SOOO good you really ought to read it anyway! ;-) This new effort by Phopas has everything - drama, romance, suspense, horror, action, and COMEDY!! - As if Xena and Gabby didn't have their own hilarious moments, Salmoneous makes an appearance to add more of his own. At its most basic though, this is really a horror story in the grand tradition of horror tales. It has Xena and the bard, just having recently admitted their feelings for one another, traveling to a little village where they hope to spend some quiet time by themselves. Their plans, however, quickly change when they discover that a terrible evil is plaguing the villagers - an evil born of innocence with a taste for human blood...This story is a MUST, MUST READ!! It is listed on Tim's Web page as a novel and rightfully so since it is loooooooong but VERY much worth the read. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! [Do not miss the sequel HEART AND SOUL]- 83 pgs., 4/25/97

VACATION IN TARTARUS by Trish Kerr (Phopas) -- [Alt]
Phopas' latest installment is a follow-up to her three previous novels ABOUT THAT KISS, HONEYMOON and HEART AND SOUL. Af ter everything the warrior and bard have been through in recent months, the two decide to take a vacation only things don't turn out exaaaaactly as planned when they end up on an island where artsy types get NO respect, the Warrior Princess is idolized and TENNIS RULES!!!! Tennis you ask??? Yeap - tennis ;-) What can I say, it's a wild, ZANY ride, very reflective of this bard's HIGHLY original brand of humor. It is also a tribute to popular culture with some of the best guest stars I've EVER seen in a XWP story! :) In addition to the comedy, Phopas' depiction of the Xena/Gab relationship makes them seem very real, very much in love and in lust. She's developed the characterizations nicely from ABOUT THAT KISS when they first admitted what they felt, to the excitement of the new in HONEYMOON, the deepening love in HEART AND SOUL to the trust and sense of familiarity between them in this latest effort. It's a wacky, FUN story but the treatment of the relationship is really what makes it special. This one will keep you grinning and is NOT TO BE MISSED! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 185 pgs., 11/24/97
