[Previous report was for 9/30/98]

Hi all,

Quick personal announcement first - the mess with the hurricane last week caused me to fall behind in my e-mail quite a bit so if you've e-mailed me recently just know that it might be a few days before I can reply.

The report includes a SPECIAL SECTION tonight on STAR TREK VOYAGER fanfic.

One new XWP fanfic site now online - CHAKRAM-1'S XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS page at:

The fan fiction page featuring this bard's work is at:

Two excellent little tales for you below. All alt.

A new name in XWP fanfic makes an impressive debut on the Web with a terrific new tale of adventure, intrigue and romance. As the story begins, Xena and the Gabster are on their way to a bard competition, when they learn of an impending attack by raiders. Hoping to warn the local king, the two take a detour to the capital - only to walk into a web of intrigue that will wrap around them both endangering their lives and the happiness they've so recently found. Chakram-1 has a delightful writing style with an almost medieval feel that contributes to the story's atmosphere. The treatment of the Xena/Gab relationship is intensely satisfying, depicting two partners that love and treasure one another deeply. Already a great read, this one shows fantastic promise. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! [unfinished] - 7 pgs.

The best series in VOYAGER fanfic continues with G.L.'s seventh JUST BETWEEN tale. Set a month after the events in JUST BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, this newest entry has Seven and her captain recuperating from their recent ordeal with the Borg collective when a sudden energy burst from an anomaly in space plunges the two into an alternate universe - a mirror world where Voyager returned to Earth years before - Janeway's life went in a very different direction and decades before a child named Annika Hansen was never assimilated by the borg - remaining fully human. G.L.'s interpretation of these STAR TREK characters makes her fiction a delight to read. She captures the essence of those characters - their relationships, their mannerisms, their way of thinking so remarkably well that you can visualize these stories as easily as if you were watching one of the TV episodes. JUST BETWEEN REALITIES is particularly poignant in that it brings Janeway and Seven face to face with what their lives could have been like if circumstances had been different - helping them both to come to terms with their pasts and preparing them for a little...addition to the family >:) Guaranteed to entertain, this one gets the lunatic's HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! - 57 pgs.

Reviews of all other entries in G.L.'s JUST BETWEEN series are available on my SPECIAL REPORTS page at:

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.

Happy reading!
