Hey guys!

A nice, fat little report tonight :)

Long known in the Xenaverse as the King of Spoilers for his brilliantly HILARIOUS spoilers of upcoming XWP episodes, Zwolf with this new story becomes also the Clive Barker of the Xenaverse! As if IN A DEEP SLEEP and UNDER THE MOON weren't scary enough, this talented bard now brings us a story that beyond the expected humor (wouldn't be a Zwolf story without the laughs after all ;-) is truly TERRIFYING!! Set on an appropriately stormy night, this tale has Xena and the bard seeking refuge from the weather in a dark, deserted castle - at least it looks deserted...until they discover otherwise. BWWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Couldn't resist the wild laugh there ;-) Anyway - this is outstanding folks! Very well written, VERY original and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

CITY OF PEACE by the NetForum bards
A fascinating cooperative story by several NetForum bards (Stradivarius, JayBird, XenaAddict, Raye Dene, and Wishes) which has Xena trapped in a strange world, thinking of herself as a warlord once again, while a desperate Gabrielle works to help her return to reality, finding some ulikely allies in the process.

BOUND by Melissa Good
Part four of this story is now available. Having just finished one of the best XWP stories this reader has ever read, HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS (reviewed 6/28/97), Missy is back with a sequel and yet another SOLID winner! BOUND picks up where HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS left off - having left Potidaea behind, Xena and Gabrielle decide to go back to the land of the forest dwellers they first met in WARRIOR BY ANY OTHER NAME. They want to see their friend Jessan but there is something else drawing them back to those unusual people - a need now to understand the strange bond some of the forest dwellers share with each other - a connection they call the lifebond - a connection Xena and Gabrielle now know they also share but need to understand. In this latest section, Xena becomes determined to recuperate her health while the threat to the forest dwellers grows. Although still not finished, this tale is clearly of the same caliber as all of Missy's stories to date featuring exceptional characterizations, a poignantly romantic treatment of the Xena/Gab relationship, an intriguing and well-structured plot, and the return appearance of one of the most beloved original characters in XWP fan fiction - Ares the wolf pup (Roo!! :) I have it on good authority that Missy is being heavily pressured to start a fan club for the little mut (we want paw prints!!) A Missy story is a magical experience NOT TO BE MISSED people. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Note - this story is not explicit so far.

This fourth installment in Nene's comedy MYTH series finds the warrior and her "bardie-poo" in Amazonia getting ready for the wedding of the century. Before that fateful event, however, a "few" misunderstandings will have to be cleared up and some ceremonial customs observed including a priceless meeting between one of the brides-to-be and the Ancient version of Dr. Ruth! Nene continues to amaze in this story with her knowledge of popular culture. Possessed of a wicked sense of humor and a brilliant writing talent, she brings us in this story a tale NOT TO BE MISSED!

Sweet little story that has Xena taking refuge in a cave with her bard so she can let Gabrielle in on a long-kept secret.

BRIDGES II by S. Derkins
Part 6 of this story is now available. Starting where BRIDGES left off - this sequel maintains the sweet quality of the original as Xena and Gabrielle start a new life for themselves - a life in which they are suddenly much more comfortable expressing their feelings...or so the bard thinks until things begin to go wrong.

Chapters 2-8 of this story are now available. This is a sequel to Katrina's delightful MATCHMAKER (reviewed 7/16/97). As it begins Xena and Gabrielle are thoroughly enjoying the time after their joining ceremony while the queens two Amazons consorts, are busy with a fire of their own ;-) The honeymoons are soon over, however, when others become interested in the rings the four women carry - women given to them by the gods and capable of great power.

For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabby, depicting them as more than just friends.

Happy reading!
