All news ones tonight.
I HAD FORGOTTEN by My Warrior
Emotional hurt/comfort tale featuring a shifting point-of-view technique that has Xena and Gabrielle visiting the warrior's mother in Amphipolis when an old enemy decides to extract a terrible revenge on the Warrior Princess. Poignant and effective. -- 5 pgs.
WHISPERS OF INSANITY by Tragedy
A tale of madness and forgiveness which follows the thoughts of a tortured mind as it seeks vengeance on a memory from the past. Tragedy's unique writing style in this adds dramatic impact to the story. Intense. -- 8 pgs.
GENTLE PASSIONS by S. Derkins
Set just after the end of the episode ONE AGAINST AN ARMY, this little vignette chronicles a deeply emotional moment as an unspoken truth is communicated between warrior and bard. A heart-wringer of a tale, this is a MUST READ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! -- 2 pgs.
PHANTOM by Silk
This passionate new entry in Silk's APPARITIONS OF LOVE SERIES follows a lost soul's desperate journey to reunite with her forgotten mate. A beautifully written, poignant account of a love that transcends even death. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! -- 7 pgs.
FOR THE LOVE OF GAIA by Felioness
A sequel to Felioness' THE AMPHIPOLIS EXPEDITION, this story finds Commander Xandra, Brie and the rest of the colonists busy planning for the future of their colony when an old danger resurfaces to threaten all that Xandra and Brie hold dear. Part of the COLONIZATION TRILOGY, Felioness' story maintains the sense of suspense and adventure of her previous tale. Nicely written. [unfinished] -- 13 pgs.
DESTINY AT THE AMPHIPILI NURSING HOME by HikNboots
It never ceases to amaze me how creative our Xenite bards are getting with those uber tales. This latest one is a very original little story set in contemporary times that has Katy Hammonds trying to help her beloved grandma Mavis and the old woman's life-long partner Cass escape the abuse in a nursing home when a beautiful mechanic with startling blue eyes comes into their lives - a young woman with a surprising physical similarity to Cass and a spirit very much like that of the warrior woman Mavis has always told stories about. With some funny moments and a sentimental transition between generations, this is an enjoyable read. -- 9 pgs.
FRAGMENTS by TZ
TZ has added a new fragment to her collection. Titled PUSS TO PASS THE TIME, it chronicles a not-so-innocent exchange between warrior and bard. FRAGMENTS is A delightful collection of story fragments that will have you grinning from ear to ear. In particular do not miss Xena and Gabrielle's first experience with Indian "culture" in BETWEEN THE COVERS and the sure-to-be-classic jingle Gab teaches the Amazons in THE DRINKING SONG. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!-- 7 pgs.
For those of you reading this post who are not familiar with the term alternative (alt.), it refers to ADULT stories that add a romantic element to the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, depicting them as more than just friends.
